America cannot avoid our tragic history of political violence, but neither are we doomed to repeat it. Fascism is fueled by violence. Community is how we keep us safe and the place where democracy is protected and expanded.

How do we get there together? How do we talk about this with our family, friends, and loved ones? And how do we do all of this while continuing to fight the same violent forces and rhetoric that leads to political violence of the sort we have seen before and that everyone saw this weekend.
