Tell Congress: Oppose Trump’s takeover of D.C.

To Members of Congress:

I urge you to act against Donald Trump’s takeover of Washington, D.C.’s police and National Guard — a misuse of the Home Rule Act that overrides local leaders and erodes democracy.

This is not about safety; crime is falling. This is about authoritarian control, and Trump has said he won’t stop with D.C. He’s using this as a warning to other cities, to show that if he can overrun the capital, he can do it anywhere.

When an authoritarian targets the capital, feminists know it’s the women — especially Black, Brown, immigrant, queer, and disabled women — who are among the first to feel the clampdown. Our movement stands with them.

I call on you to:

Oppose all attacks on D.C. and its people.

End the military emergency immediately.

Grant D.C.’s elected leaders permanent authority to govern.

Silence now will invite further abuses. Please defend democracy and protect the residents of D.C.
