It's Home Football Season at West Point, NY! In Defense of Democracy is combining forces with the nationwide Make Billionaires Pay to host our combined event outside the gates of West Point in Highland Falls prior to the home football game against North Texas. The game starts against North Texas begins at noon, so we will be outside the gates prior to the game making our voices heard about military specific issues, as well as Make Billionaires Pay issues...

Make Billionaires Pay Issues: As the United States braces for extreme heat, wildfires, and hurricanes, the Trump administration just rammed through a mega-bill defunding our communities to give handouts to billionaires. They’re dismantling our democracy, attacking immigrants, and feeding the war profiteers. The attacks on our people are directly tied to the attacks on our planet. The billionaire fascists are hoarding resources and leaving working class communities across the globe to face the impacts of the extreme weather and rising seas. 

Among Trump's billionaire buddies, a handful of Big Oil & Gas executives are raking in profits while the rest of us pay the price of rising costs, toxic pollution, and worsening climate disasters.

All across the world, authoritarian regimes are on the rise but people are fighting back. We are uniting across the world to demand a better future for our communities and for all living beings.

In Defense of Democracy Issues: We have launched a series of protests to take advantage of the home games and the crowds who attend from all over the country (on Mobilize/Indivisible event). These protests take place outside the gates, in Highland Falls, so there's no need for an ID card or visitor's pass. 
Let's support the military in their NON-PARTISAN mission to support the USA and our traditional ALLIES (Canada is our friend, and we support the Ukraine, not Russia!) Let's make noise about the abuse of the National Guard in D.C. and L.A. We are here to be a voice in support of Veterans and the VA; we believe diversity is a strength in the military (women, POC, LGBTQ+); military and spouse women's healthcare and abortion access rights are under threat by this administration and we are not happy. The USA is founded on immigration-not the terror that ICE brings to our peaceful communities. Pete Hegseth (Secretary of Defense) is a disgrace.
