Women's March 2021 Durham NC
City Square
201 Corcoran St, Durham, NC 27701
Durham, NC

Directions
201 Corcoran St, Durham, NC 27701

We will be meeting in peaceful protest at CCB Plaza two days before the Supreme Court's reconvening on October 4th.

When the Supreme Court rejected an emergency request to block Texas's abortion ban, they effectively took the next step towards overturning Roe v. Wade. We are witnessing the most dire threat to abortion access in our lifetime.

This peaceful protest and march come as the Supreme Court is set to begin oral arguments on October 4th in a case that will determine the future of abortion rights for all Americans. We will be marching to show that Americans overwhelmingly support Roe v. Wade and that this is nothing more than another unacceptable Right Wing power grab to control the bodies, futures, and lives of pregnant women and birthing people.

We need to send an unmistakable message about our fierce opposition to restricting abortion access and overturning Roe v. Wade before it's too late.

We will be meeting at CCB Plaza (201 Corcoran Street) at 1:00pm. We will share stories, songs, and poetry at the Plaza. If you would like to speak, please email the hosts to coordinate. We still have room for more speakers!

The March will kick off at 2:00pm. The route is about 3/4 of a mile long, with public benches and shaded seating areas along the route. We will be marching from CCB Plaza to Main Street, Roxborro Street, Liberty Street, City Hall Plaza, Magnum Street, and along Chapel Hill Street back to the Plaza.

We will be marching on the sidewalks, and the streets will remain open to regular vehicular traffic. Safety Marshals will be posted at street crossings to assist with safety.

Please remember to bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and be respectful of other people's space. Everyone is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Masks and sanitizer will be available at CCB Plaza and along the route.
