Women's March Coalition of East TN - Day of Action
Charles Krutch Park
504 Market Street
Knoxville, TN 37902

The Women's March Coalition of Knoxville in conjunction with our community partners, Indivisible East Tennessee, and the Knox County Democratic Party, will participate in the Women's March national and statewide day of action with a local event.

Participants need to mask up and will be required to follow social distancing precautions as we continue to keep one another safe during the pandemic . There are also remote options available for those who are not comfortable with an in person event.

Locally, we will be having a two part approach to our day of action! At 10:00 a.m., we will be assembling downtown for a short rally at Krutch Park which will highlight what is at stake this election. Guest speakers will cover topics such as the Affordable Care Act, marriage equality, women's health and reproductive freedom and information on voting.

Next, we will march to the polls (City County Building, an early voting site) so that anyone who would like to may cast their vote early. (Please make sure you bring a photo ID and that you are able to cover up/remove any campaign related paraphernalia which is not allowed at the election poll site.) After marching back to the rally site, we will then disburse for the second part of the Day of Action...

Our local, state and federal campaigns are down to the wire and need volunteers to text, phone bank, conduct literature drops, canvass, and deliver yard signs. We want to plug in the energy and people power of the Women's March to our area progressive campaigns.

Campaigns are currently organizing their individual Day of Action events for the afternoon of the 17th. They will be creating Facebook events for their actions and we will be linking those in the event page as they become available. (You will be able to pick the way in which they would like to participate and which of the candidates you would like to support.)

We have rallied, marched and carried signs and while that is great for awareness and visibility, we wanted to find a way to make a direct impact. So, join us on Saturday, October 17th to cast your vote with your friends, loved ones, and fellow Women's March resisters and then spend the afternoon volunteering on a campaign to make positive change!
