People's March for Democracy in Costa Mesa
92627
92627
Costa Mesa, CA, 92627, US

<Registration is closed>
“We all march for different reasons, but we are united for the same cause: to defend our rights and our future. On Saturday, Jan 18th, in Costa Mesa, California – come together at 12:00pm for this bold demonstration of the resilience of resistance.”

If you believe:

• Our democracy is not for sale, and our government serves the people, not billionaires.
• Decisions about your body should remain yours.
• Climate change is real, and collective action is needed now.
• Books belong in libraries, not on bonfires.
• Everyone has the right to love who they want and identify as their authentic selves.
• Black lives matter.
• In working people's health, safety and the right to unionize.
• Healthcare is a basic necessity, not a profit machine.
• Freedom of speech which is fundamental to our democracy.
• The right to worship freely without discrimination or oppression.
• In a fair and immediate path to citizenship for our Dreamers, refugee and immigrant community members.
• In an economy that works for the people who power it.

—then this march is for you. All are welcome!

On Saturday, Jan 18th at 12:00pm we will briefly meet up at a park and march for 1-2 miles. There is an option to continue to sign waving or end for the day.

Please Note: This is a peaceful march, per our First Amendment right to protest and peacefully assemble. We will be marching at public spaces, on public sidewalks and we will not be blocking pedestrians. We will not be closing traffic nor marching in streets. This is not a rally, and it is not a parade, so there is no city involvement, no permits, no hired security nor requested presence of police.

Suggestions on what to bring (or leave at home) and location details will be provided to registered participants.

“This is our moment to remind Washington elites — and Americans everywhere — where the power truly lives: with the people.”

Let’s make it count.
